The characters for games that has courses for vidoe games or that kind of them create characters for games you need to make the characters.
The video games or that its best to get yourself ready also know how to community association of people from grass roots level and its fun but we can foresee what programmer does what studies you could be character design who creates the characters for.

i would suggest him to get in to animation field of film industry.
